Katie Snalune Appointed Regional Vet

Having been part of a team that looked after 2 RDA centres over the past 20 years, I have seen the dedication and hard work that goes into RDA as well as the positive effects it has on individuals.

Riding for the Disabled’s South East Region has appointed a new regional vet, following the recent retirement of Judy Scrine. Katie Snalune, owner and Head of Hospital at Newnham Court Equine, Maidstone, Kent has agreed to take on the position of South East Region Vet and will play a vital role in the team by officiating at regional events as well as delivering equine training modules for the RDA Coaching Pathway.

RDA South East Region Chair, Pauline Roestenburg, commented, “We are thrilled that Katie has agreed to join us and we are sure her extensive knowledge and experience will be an enormous asset to the Region.”

“Personally, I have seen family members and close friends, who have been affected by developmental disorders, dementia and stroke, benefit enormously, both physically and mentally, from the RDA” said Katie.

Katie has been an equine vet for nearly 24 years and says she is privileged to look after these amazing creatures and ‘constantly bowled over by the positive impact they can have on people’.

Katie has a busy year ahead of her not only with her involvement with RDA but because Newnham Court Equine will be moving site and building work will be starting on a new equine hospital.

“Being asked to be the RDA South East Region Vet is an honour, and I hope I can help and contribute, in some small way, to this amazing charity.” Katie added.
