Training Sessions

In the South East Region we have nearly 200 registered instructors working at all levels from trainees working under supervision, Log Book Holders who have been assessed to "go solo" and take sole charge of their session, Group Instructors,

(RDAG I s), who have achieved their badge and certificate qualification and RDAI s who have achieved the RDA Instructor exam. At present we only have one instructor who has achieved the highest RDA qualification of RDASI, (RDA Senior instructor).

Our instructors are now more correctly called coaches and the United Kingdom Coaching Certificate (UKCC) qualification at levels 1, 2 and 3 slots in with our own RDA qualifications to give a nationally recognised qualification to our RDA coaches many of whom are volunteers. The technical requirements of the UKCC qualification also provide a useful template for the content of our training days.

All of our coaches are trained from the start to deliver safe and stimulating sessions appropriate to the abilities of the riders involved. There is an ongoing programme of assessments to ensure best practice in our groups and to provide the less experienced coaches with any help that they need.
We provide a variety of training days in the region which take the form of demonstrations, workshops or classroom sessions. Special training sessions for RDAI exam candidates also take place.

Anyone who is interested in becoming an RDA coach should approach their local group or contact the Regional Chairman or Regional Instructor.
