FUN DAY AT Felbridge Showground 6th May 2010

Riders from RDA Groups from Kent, Surrey and Sussex, converged on Felbridge Showground recently to compete for qualifying places at the RDA's National Championships that are held at Hartpury, Gloucestershire in July.

Five competitors qualified to go on to compete against riders from the rest of the country.

This year's Combined Cup, for the highest overall score (Dressage and Countryside Challenge, was Chloe Rees-Jones of Court Meadow Group, and Emma Champion of Arundel Group was awarded the trophy for the highest Countryside Challenge score.

The course for the RDA Countryside Challenge is the same for all competing riders in the UK and challenges riders to test their skills at directing their mounts through a series of obstacles.

This is a day when riders of all abilities can 'have a go'. There are handy pony classes and gymkhana games along with a fancy dress competition.

All the riders appeared to go home happy with smiles on their faces and plenty of rosettes!
